Directions to the Taylor Foundation’s new studios at 551 Grand Street: Google Map
All subway stops are 8/10 of a mile from the Taylor Studios; the walk takes about 15 minutes. The 14A bus, which runs every 15 minutes, will take you from the F / M Delancey Street subway stop to the Studios. If you prefer to take the bus only, you can catch the 14A headed east on 14th Street anywhere from Abingdon Square or points east. At Avenue A the bus heads south; below Houston Street this becomes Essex Street. It then heads east on Grand Street and stops in front of the Studios at Grand and Jackson Street.
Using the 4 / 5 / 6: Transfer to the F / M or B / D. If you take the 4 / 5, transfer to the 6 at Union Square to the downtown 6. Take the 6 downtown to Lafayette and Broadway and transfer to the downtown F / M or B / D; follow the directions below.
Using the F / M to Delancey Street or the B / D to Grand Street: If you take the B / D to Grand Street, head east on Grand. The first large street you will cross is Allen. If the first large street you come to is the Bowery, turn around. You have the option to take the 14A bus at the Southeast corner of Essex and Grand, in front of Kossar’s Bialys. Take this to the Fine Fare Supermarket at Grand and Jackson; the double doors east of the supermarket are 551 Grand.
If you take the F / M to Delancey, exit at the southwest corner of Essex and Delancey. At street level, make a u-turn; you will see a bus stop in front of a Chinese bakery. The 14A stops here, turns east on Grand and continues to Jackson Street (see above). If you prefer to walk, head south two blocks to Grand Street, and then walk approximately 12 minutes east on Grand.
The studios are on the second floor at 551 Grand. A lift is available at the back of the studio, on Madison Street between Grand and Jackson. If you call ahead (212.431.5562) we will arrange to have someone meet you at this wheelchair-accessible entrance.
For your return trip we will be happy to call a car service for you.
